Founder's Note

Years ago, while sitting in a healthcare statistics lecture, the initial concept of CarePoint Home Health came to mind. The instructor’s mission for the day was to get students to understand the growing number of elderly and physically and/or mentally challenged individuals that would receive care at home instead of in an institution. The instructor went on to note that home care would not only reduce the cost of care, but, more importantly, studies had shown that it also improved the physical, mental, and emotional outcomes of those served. I was intrigued.

Many years later, I received a call that my mother had been taken to the ER and was being admitted to the hospital. When she was released days later, my family and I realized that our strong, independent mother couldn't be left alone. All the statistics, evidence, and projections I had studied were now our family's reality. Mama needed someone to make sure she ate, got a bath, and took her medications; she needed home care. She also needed someone to ensure she had "a little something sweet" most days after lunch and that detergent and Clorox were a must for her laundry load of whites. In short, she needed home care, but she also needed someone to care. Mama has since passed on, but we made sure she didn’t just survive under those new circumstances she faced but that she thrived. That experience, 20 years of direct patient care in hospitals and clinics, and a passion for helping others drives my desire to ensure that quality home care is available to those who need it.

Residents of the Twin Cities have numerous choices when selecting a home care agency. Just know that CarePoint is committed to diligently earning not only your business but also, and most importantly, your trust and respect.
